CAT Scratch Studios is committed to creating stronger, more connected communities in South Dakota and beyond.
Sat Nam, Welcome. I’m Cary, a Black Hills winyan(woman), heart and soul. Born and raised in South Dakota, I work in many facets, finding flow and harmony every day. CAT Scratch Studios, Creative Arts and Therapies, links my passions of teaching, yoga+meditations, art and community.
My journey of creativity, yoga and education began early on. It is one of insight, inspiration and humility, which I learn and re-learn often. I am an educator, artist, community organizer and change maker. Engaging with people is vital for me. Perceiving connections and striving to deepen them, I made it my business to connect people through holistic practices. Focusing on healthy living, creative community collaborations, teaching, art, and yoga+meditations to harmonize our lives.
To do this, I work with the concept that when we take the time to tend to our own fire and learn to commit to self, there is a ripple effect emanating from the heart space that touches others. This essential principle for all of my work inspires, challenges and is foundational for healthy growth. It is energetic, measurable and creative. My work is based on this and my belief in connectedness and the importance of compassion and kindness. Essentially, when we rise, we rise-together.
I completed my Kundalini training in Espanola, NM in 2012. I am E-RYT® 200, YACEP® Yoga Alliance certified. I completed an additional 200 hour yoga teacher training to challenge myself for personal growth and development in 2022. In my daily life and through my business goals, my commitment to life-long learning and creative collaboration runs deep.
Yoga is ideal for opening your mind and body to creative flow and vision-making. I teach various yoga courses and meditations privately and for groups. Teaching yoga and art in conjunction for maximum creativity excites me. Artistically, my current focus is on large, installation-style work that connects groups of people with multiple creative touch points. I have engaged with several diverse groups in the Black Hills and Central Regions of SD through these Creative Collaborative Community artworks.
My daily practices include inquiry and developing keen awareness of the subtle. These processes require depth, discipline and dedication to myself, to those I work with and for and to creative source. I practice, learn and relearn humility which connects me to the divine. That presence of spirit, which is timeless, constant, pure and infinite, is accessible and as intimate as breath and creativity.
Pilamayaye.
This is an EVOLUTION.
PLEASE continue to check in and stay CONNECTED.
LOVE. PEACE. JOY.
